Kota Kinabalu, Tuesday, 25 March 2025:
According to local government regulations, commercial areas must provide on-street parking spaces proportional to the build-up area. However, the Luyang Assemblyman has recently occupied existing parking spaces to install flower beds, demonstrating a disregard for these regulations.
Furthermore, numerous residents have complained that the newly installed flower beds are not only impractical but also possess an ominous appearance.
The Foh Sang Parking Complex, constructed at a cost of RM30 million, has revealed multiple issues within just 100 days of operation, necessitating “improvements.” This raises concerns regarding possible unprofessional or improper practices during the project’s planning and approval process.
Without adequate consultation with local residents, the Luyang Assemblyman unilaterally implemented changes, taking over existing parking spaces and forcing the partial relocation of market stalls due to flawed building planning, thereby disrupting the community’s daily routines.
Considering all these issues, it is evident that the Luyang Assemblyman lacks the necessary competence in policy implementation and project management. If he continues to lead, the entire constituency may face further disorder and administrative challenges in the future.
